Dudley Advocacy and Consulting Inc. understands the many ways learning differences can affect a child’s education. Our mission is to work with parents and the school district to meet a child where they are, and work towards their educational and personal success.
We can help you ensure that the school district is providing your child’s education in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), implementing the strategies and accommodations that will best meet the needs of your child, creating goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time oriented (SMART), and that any related services your child needs have been considered and are being implemented.
As your child's advocate, we collaborate with you and the school district to create a plan that will guide your child forward towards ongoing success.
We educate parents on navigating the special education process. The better understanding they gain, the more thoroughly they can advocate for their child. During this process we can answer specific questions and advise on upcoming meetings so that parents are empowered with the knowledge they need to confidently move forward.
We review any paperwork provided by the school or outside providers in order to make recommendations for further testing, programming, goals, accommodations and modifications. (FIE, IEE, IEP, 504, MDR and more)
We will assist parents by preparing for and attending the ARD, 504, MDR, and/or other special education meetings along side them. Having an advocate attend a meeting provides parents the opportunity to listen more thoroughly. When the meeting ends, we ensure a more thorough understanding of the documentation presented before signatures are obtained.
